About the Gallery

The Lore Degenstein Gallery, located in the Charles B. Degenstein Campus Center, presents work in four professional exhibitions and one student exhibition each year.

Our annual national juried Figurative Drawing and Painting Competition holds a prominent place in the exhibition schedule and has been instrumental in building our permanent collection of contemporary figurative art.

Traveling exhibitions are hosted from time to time, and we also periodically exhibit items from our extensive French poster collection.

Tim Seibles and Jennifer Fish: Disrupting the Expected

Saturday, Jan. 27–Sunday, March 3

In a collaboration between the Lore Degenstein Gallery and Susquehanna’s School of Humanities, this exhibition highlights the work of poet Tim Seibles and sociologist/photographer Jennifer Fish. Emeritus Professor of English at Old Dominion University and former Poet Laureate of Virginia, Seibles’ poetry engages both the political and mystical realms as well as the beauty of intimacy and the persistence of memory. Fish, Professor of Sociology at Old Dominion, speaks to the global movement of workers, women and refugees. Her projects employ documentary photography and film in the service of human rights movements. For the bulk of their careers, Fish and Seibles have worked independently. Disrupting the Expected puts their work in dialogue for the first time, exploring how disparate investigations into human experience can be mutually enriching.

Reflect

It’s time to take a step back from everything. It’s time to reflect.

The senior graphic design and studio art majors at Susquehanna University invite you to take a moment to see just what can be accomplished through hard work and dedication. In creating the showcase, they have refelced on their identities as designers and artists, as individuals, and on their growth over the past four years.

“This is a reflection of us.”
